- Michael Trainor
Michael Trainor is a professional artist based in central Manchester who has been involved in over 50 temporary and permanent works of art in public spaces including 'They shoot Horses, Don't They?' - the world's largest disco mirrorball for Blackpool seafront. Michael is artistic director of 'The Northern Quarter Gallery' in Manchester which promotes new and experimental artworks in all media most notably the recent 'Pure Rubbish' and 'Crazy Art Golf' shows. Michael is currently working on a series of automated 'plant' sculptures powered by renewable energy sources for a new university in Cornwall including one of which is designed to get struck by lightning. Michael frequently lectures and gives public talks on both public art and product design.
