Richard Sharples
Michael is Senior Lecturer in Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art and an eminent Theatre Designer. His most recent production was at the National Theatre with Kenneth Brannagh. His design work includes work for The Royal Shakespeare Company; the Bloomsbury Theatre, the Royal Ballet, BBC2, the Old Vic Theatre, the Crucible Theatre Sheffield, the Library Theatre and Liverpool Playhouse. He has also designed in New York, Chicago, South Africa, Germany and Istanbul. He has also won many Best Design awards. Richard Sharples graduated from Wimbledon School of Art in 1982 having studied theatre design. Since leaving college he has worked and continues to work on a wide variety of projects both commercial and art based. These include designing, making and occasionally directing for film, theatre and television. Recent clients include BBC, LWT, Granada, Disney Channel, EMI and the Millennium Dome. His work has been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum, Museum of the Moving Image and the Theatre Museum.
